Job summary

Chandler Macleod Group is partnering with a Federal Government agency in Australia to recruit a Senior Data Technician for workforce modelling, forecasting and analytics. You will design and improve modelling solutions, turning complex policy and operational data into practical tools for decision-makers.

The role offers technical leadership, mentoring and the chance to contribute to workforce reform initiatives across multiple locations in Australia.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in data, analytics, workforce modelling, forecasting or a similar technical field.
• Advanced technical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining analytical or modelling solutions.
• Strong systems thinking and the ability to turn complex problems into practical solutions.
• Experience working with Microsoft tools and enterprise technology.
• Experience with technical documentation, testing, quality assurance and governance.
• The ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting other team members.
• The ability to work effectively in a changing environment and develop creative solutions to technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain workforce modelling, forecasting and analytical solutions.
• Turn complex workforce, policy and operational issues into practical and reliable technical solutions.
• Use Microsoft and other approved technology to develop modelling and analytical tools.
• Apply strong technical, development and problem-solving skills to complex projects.
• Develop and maintain technical standards, documentation, testing and quality assurance processes.
• Ensure modelling and analytical products are accurate, reliable, transparent and easy to maintain.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to team members.
• Share knowledge and help build the technical and analytical skills of the team.
• Develop reusable solutions and consistent modelling practices.
• Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver practical outcomes.
• Identify and manage risks within their area of responsibility.
