Job summary

Sigma Healthcare, a leading Australian pharmacy network, is seeking a Senior Data Governance Analyst to support the implementation and maturity of its Data Governance Framework. You will work with data owners, stewards, custodians and business stakeholders to improve data quality and ensure compliance with governance controls.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Data, Analytics or related discipline.
• Around three years’ experience in data governance, information management or related technology role.
• Working knowledge of data privacy legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience within the healthcare industry.
• Hands-on experience implementing data governance frameworks, policies, standards and stewardship models.
• Strong knowledge of Critical Data Elements, data quality rules, metrics and controls.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development, implementation, and refinement of the Sigma Data Governance Framework.
• Develop data governance artefacts such as standards, policies, risk definitions, controls, procedures.
• Implement data governance processes and lead change management across business units.
• Ensure compliance with the Australian Privacy Act, ACCC regulations, and other standards.
• Develop and track metrics to assess effectiveness of governance initiatives.
• Partner with key stakeholders, including information security teams, to control and audit data access.
• Drive engagement in data literacy programs and participate in community forums for governance principles.
• Update and enhance data policies through periodic reviews.
• Support evolution of AI governance capability embedding governance practices for responsible use of data.
• Create reports and dashboards to monitor Data Governance KPIs for the financial year.
• Operate and maintain data governance tools to keep data assets, metadata, and controls up to date.
