Job summary

Iterate in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a critical data platform program on a 3-month contract. You will build and run the pipelines that bring data in, shape it, and make it reliable for the teams that depend on it.

The role requires hands-on work with Snowflake, dbt models, and Airflow, plus strong data modelling experience and solid SQL and Python. You will work independently and contribute quickly on a short engagement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Snowflake, including optimising the higher data transformation layers.
• Strong commercial experience with dbt (models, tests, macros, incremental builds).
• Strong experience building and running Airflow DAGs in production.
• Solid data modelling experience (dimensional modelling, SCD patterns or similar) - comfortable owning the transformation layer, not just ingestion.
• Proven data ingestion and transformation experience across multiple source systems.
• Solid SQL and Python.
• Comfortable working independently and getting productive quickly on a short engagement.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a Melbourne-based organisation supporting a critical data platform program.

Initial 3 month contract, so we are ideally looking for someone who can start immediately.

This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes data engineering role. You'll build and run the pipelines that bring data in, shape it, and make it reliable for the teams that depend on it - with real depth expected in the higher transformation and data modelling layers in Snowflake, not just raw ingestion.
