Job summary

ASX is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to lead data engineering workstreams across regulatory and risk initiatives. You will translate complex business, risk and reporting needs into scalable data pipelines and curated datasets, ensuring governance and traceability throughout the data lifecycle.

You will design ingestion pipelines, build automated tests, and collaborate across stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely data for Tableau and management reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a data-focused role with senior-level data engineering experience.
• Strong data modelling, data lineage, and pipeline design expertise.
• Proven experience with automated data testing, reconciliation, observability and validation.
• Delivery of complex data migrations and data platform transformations.
• Advanced SQL and Python for data extraction, transformation and automation.
• Experience with governed, performant datasets for BI/Reporting.
• Experience delivering data pipelines for Tableau or similar tools.
• Ability to analyse complex data, risk and regulatory data journeys.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering workstreams across change, regulatory and risk initiatives from source ingestion to curated data products.
• Translate business, risk and reporting requirements into scalable data engineering solutions.
• Identify and close data flow gaps, improve control and efficiency.
• Embed data governance, metadata, lineage and KRI traceability in engineering deliverables.
• Design source-to-target mappings, ingestion pipelines and data models across systems and cloud.
• Build automated data tests covering schema, completeness, and transformations, and support UAT.
• Create reusable data pipelines and datasets for reporting and management information.
• Strengthen data platform controls via monitoring, logging and documentation.
• Assist production regulatory, audit and incident remediation with lineage and evidence.
• Coach team members and promote engineering standards for coding and deployment.
