Job summary

ASX is seeking a seasoned Quality Engineering professional in Sydney to design and execute test strategies for data pipelines and ELT processes on cloud platforms. You will drive automated testing, collaborate with data engineers, and ensure delivery quality across data products.

The role requires 5+ years in data testing, strong SQL, and programming in Python/Java, with experience in Agile and cloud environments. A dynamic, governance-driven team awaits in a pivotal data function.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a test engineer in data / ETL / data analytics/ data warehousing projects.
• Strong SQL skill.
• Programming skills such as Python, Java.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure.
• Exposure to non-functional testing, such as performance and load testing.
• Exposure to test automation, e.g. running automated test scripts or contributing to test automation tools/frameworks.
• Experience with version-control and CI/CD tools and frameworks.
• Worked in a fast-paced Agile environment with rapid delivery expectations while adhering to structured and highly governed testing processes.
• Technical ACUMEN and willingness to engage and learn.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and develop test approaches, test cases and test scripts for ELT pipelines on cloud platforms.
• Execute test cases within documented timeframes.
• Automate test cases to speed up test execution time and ensure robust delivery.
• Prepare documentation for test plans and test results for sign-off.
• Manage defects and coordinate defect resolution with data engineers and stakeholders.
• Undertake Data Engineering responsibilities on an as-needed basis to support data processing solutions.
