Peoplebank partners with a well-established Australian organisation undergoing a major data platform transformation, moving from legacy SQL Server and traditional data warehousing to Microsoft Fabric, cloud-first.

The Senior Data Engineer will design, build and support a modern Fabric data platform, lead migration efforts, and shape practical, scalable solutions in collaboration with senior stakeholders to enable analytics and AI initiatives.

Qualifications

Senior Data Engineer with experience designing and delivering data platforms.
Experience communicating with senior stakeholders to shape data solutions.
Experience migrating from legacy on-premise data environments to cloud-based Fabric.
Proficient in PySpark, Python and SQL development.
Knowledge of ETL/ELT patterns and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

Design and develop enterprise-scale data solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
Build and optimise Lakehouse, Warehouse and data pipeline capabilities.
Support the migration and modernisation of legacy data platforms.
Develop scalable ETL/ELT frameworks and reusable engineering patterns.
Establish engineering standards, best practices and delivery approaches.
Monitor and optimise platform performance, reliability and operational support.
Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver practical outcomes.
Contribute to DevOps, automation, governance and continuous improvement initiatives.
