Job summary
The Recruitment Company Pty Ltd in Sydney is partnering with a global financial organisation to hire a Senior Data Engineer / 2IC. You will blend hands-on data engineering with influencing platform design and data practices, while shaping the next phase of AI and analytics.
This role offers autonomy to challenge approaches, raise engineering standards, and mentor across the data group, as Microsoft Fabric migration and modern lakehouse architectures unfold.
Qualifications
- Advanced SQL and strong database development skills.
- Strong data modelling, ETL/ELT and transformation experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
- Understanding of modern lakehouse, warehouse and Medallion architecture.
- Strong understanding of data quality, lineage, metadata and governance.
- Experience with Git, code review and CI/CD.
Responsibilities
- Play a key role in the Microsoft Fabric migration.
- Design and build scalable data solutions across the modern data platform.
- Contribute to engineering standards, reusable patterns and quality practices.
- Work across data modelling, ETL/ELT, transformation and integration.
- Help shape how data is structured, governed and made available for analytics and AI.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring across the wider engineering capability.
