Job summary

OFX is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and operate data pipelines across AWS and GCP, supporting real-time and batch data workflows. You will work within an agile team to ensure data quality, scalability, and reliability for financial operations their platform supports.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in data engineering, strong SQL skills, and hands-on experience with BigQuery, Python or Java, and serverless cloud services. Hybrid work options are available in Australia.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience, ideally in financial services or fintech.
• Experience with data warehouse technology, preferably BigQuery.
• Proficiency in SQL and an object-oriented language (Python/Java).
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS or GCP and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain data pipelines from multiple source systems and environments.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional data and insights team to apply best practices for cloud architecture.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues with guidance from senior engineers and communicate status updates.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes.
• Develop testing and monitoring, and provide handover support to the operations team.
