OFX in Sydney is seeking a Data Engineer to contribute to high-quality data pipelines across AWS and GCP, focusing on ingestion, transformation, and warehousing for global operations. You will join an agile team and help implement testing and monitoring practices.

With 5+ years in data engineering, you will work on scalable data architectures, collaborate with senior engineers, and support continuous improvement while delivering reliable data services for financial services clients.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in financial services, Fintech or similar industries.
• Experienced in data warehouse technology (GCP BigQuery preferable).
• Cloud Messaging, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Serverless SQL in either AWS or GCP.
• Conducting capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning of relational databases.
• Proficient in SQL and an object-oriented language (Python and/or Java preferred).
• Data modelling and data analysis experience.

Responsabilidades

• Create new data pipeline, maintain/debug existing data pipelines which pull data from a variety of source systems
• Work within a wider engineering team, adopting and contributing to best practices for software development and cloud architecture
• Work with guidance from senior engineers to diagnose and resolve any production issues which arise, communicating status updates to key stakeholders
• Identify opportunities continuous improvement to our systems and processes
• Develop appropriate testing and monitoring, as well as providing handover and technical escalation support
