Job summary

OFX is seeking a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to design and operate data pipelines across AWS and GCP. You will contribute to ingestion, transformation, and warehousing within an agile team, ensuring robust testing, monitoring, and escalation processes. Hybrid work with a focus on scalable data solutions.

You will participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and data modelling while leveraging BigQuery and serverless services. Strong SQL and Python/Java skills are essential to success.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in financial services, Fintech or similar industries.
• Experienced in data warehouse technology (GCP Big Query preferable).
• Cloud Messaging, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Serverless SQL in either AWS or GCP.
• Conducting capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning of relational databases.
• Performing backup and recovery of corporate databases.
• Contributing to the development of policies and procedures governing corporate database operations and related issues.
• Experience working in a dynamic environment with the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new methodologies and technologies.
• Data modelling and data analysis experience.

Senior Cloud Data Engineer Aws Pipelines Security

Purpose of your role

The data engineer contributes to delivery of high quality data, including ingestion, maintenance, optimisations and solutions to support the data operations in OFX. Working across AWS and GCP, you will also be exposed to data ingestion, transformation, and warehousing. Working in an agile environment, you will implement solutions to appropriate standards and accepted best practices, working with guidance from senior engineers. On a day-to-day basis the data engineer is actively participating in the agile processes of the organization, positively contributing to discussions and team dynamics. The data engineer assists with developing appropriate testing and monitoring, as well as providing handover and technical escalation support.

What you do
