Job summary

Synechron seeks an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design and optimize scalable data platforms supporting analytics and AI initiatives. You will build cloud-based solutions on AWS with Snowflake, dbt, Python and SQL, driving ETL/ELT pipelines and robust data governance.

In this role you’ll modernize data architecture, implement data models, and orchestrate workflows with Airflow, while collaborating with analytics, business and engineering teams in a financial services context.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS data engineering and cloud data platforms.
• Hands-on with AWS Glue, EMR, Lake Formation and Redshift.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; strong Snowflake skills.
• Experience with dbt and data modeling; ETL/ELT expertise.
• Knowledge of data governance, security and access management.
• Experience in financial services domain and Agile delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines on AWS.
• Build data lake and data warehouse solutions.
• Create ETL/ELT processes using Python, SQL, Glue and dbt.
• Implement and optimize Snowflake data models and performance.
• Develop and orchestrate workflows with Apache Airflow.
• Ensure data quality, governance, security and compliance.
• Collaborate with business, analytics and engineering teams.
• Support AI/Generative AI initiatives, including Claude integration.
• Improve cost efficiency across AWS and Snowflake environments.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and best practices.
