Job summary

TAL Australia is seeking a highly skilled technical specialist to develop, test and support data solutions across Microsoft SQL Server and Azure for actuarial modelling and reporting. You will design, build and maintain production-ready data integration, reconciliation and validation reporting, and support critical production processes.

In this role you will shape development standards, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with project and operations teams to manage competing priorities

Qualifications

• Experience in developing data pipelines in both traditional and cloud-based environments using ETL methodologies.
• 5+ years as a developer with Microsoft stack SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, Views and Stored Procedures and Azure stack (ADF, Azure SQL).
• Azure-related knowledge including Azure Synapse and Notebooks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test and implement Actuarial data systems and processes, integrating with the TAL Data Platform, Prophet Enterprise platform and TAL Finance Platform.
• Assist with implementation of accounting standards AASB17 and Finance reporting platform changes.
• Ensure delivered products are secure, reliable, usable, efficient and highly available.
• Develop technical designs for step-changes in the products.
• Ensure code quality and adherence to platform frameworks via reviews and peer education.
