Job summary

NEXTDC is leading edge in data centre design, build and operation across Australia. The Commissioning Manager will own the Factory Acceptance Testing program for electrical and mechanical equipment, coordinating external agents and witnessing FATs at supplier facilities to ensure adherence to specifications.

You will review test procedures, manage NCRs and defect logs, and engage with engineers to mitigate delivery risks while travel to sites is required on occasion.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in quality assurance or commissioning within data centre, mission critical or heavy electrical/m mechanical environments.
• Proven FAT witnessing experience with NCR handling and reporting.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to raise concerns with manufacturers.
• Hands-on technical knowledge of HV/LV switchboards, generators, UPS and transformers.
• Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain FAT program across the portfolio with clear scope and acceptance criteria.
• Review manufacturer test procedures and ITPs; issue approvals or comments with Engineering coordination.
• Manage external commissioning agents and ensure their reports meet NEXTDC standards.
• Attend manufacturer facilities for first-of-kind or complex assemblies and document results.
• Issue and track NCRs, maintain defect registers and progress reports.
• Monitor manufacturing schedules against construction programs and escalate risks.
