Job summary

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission in Sydney CBD NSW is seeking an Assistant Director, Data, Analytics and Intelligence to lead high-impact data initiatives and deliver timely, accurate insights for stakeholders.

You will guide a team of data specialists, translate insights into strategic actions, and collaborate with regulators to strengthen decision-making through modern data practices.

Qualifications

• Experience engaging with stakeholders on difficult, technical, or sensitive issues.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to communicate complex data concepts.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong QA capability.
• Flexibility to work independently and with geographically dispersed teams.
• Strong data and regulatory intelligence literacy and reporting skills.
• Understanding the role and benefits of data, analytics and intelligence in regulatory agencies.
• Ability to manage, develop and lead a data and intelligence team.
• For Data and Products roles: experience in Agile delivery, Product Owner or Tech Lead.
• For Assistant Director, Data Architecture: experience with cloud data platforms and enterprise data architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of data analytics initiatives.
• Provide leadership to a team of data specialists, promoting collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Establish and implement internal and external communication systems for stakeholders.
• Provide strategic advice to Directors and external stakeholders, including reporting at forums.
• Drive adoption of emerging tools and methodologies to enhance regulatory decision-making.
