Envest Direct Agencies on the Sunshine Coast, QLD, is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to turn complex data into practical business outcomes. You’ll partner with Marketing, Claims, Finance, and Operations to drive smarter decisions, improve customer experiences and solve real-world problems using data.

This role emphasizes analytics, automation, and AI adoption, with Power BI reporting, SQL data transformations, and Python workflows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data analysis or BI roles, preferably in insurance.
• Strong SQL, data validation and troubleshooting abilities.
• Experience building Power BI reports, data models and DAX measures.

Responsibilities

• Analyse customer, quote, policy, claims, transaction and marketing data to identify trends and risks.
• Develop clear reporting and dashboards using Power BI for decision makers.
• Write efficient SQL to transform data across warehouse and lakehouse environments.
• Work with Microsoft Fabric including Warehouses, Lakehouses, notebooks and pipelines.
• Build and support reporting automations using Python, Fabric and Power Automate.
• Own analytics solutions from requirements through deployment and support.

Ready for your next adventure? We're looking for a QLD Sunshine Coast based Senior Data Analyst who loves turning complex data into practical business outcomes. This is more than a reporting role. You'll help teams across the business make smarter decisions, uncover opportunities, improve customer experiences and solve real-world problems using data.

You'll work closely with leaders across Marketing, Claims, Finance, Operations and more, helping turn data into insights that drive action. And because our data capability is continuing to grow, you'll have the chance to help shape how we use analytics, automation and AI into the future!

As a Senior Data Analyst, You Will

• Analyse customer, quote, policy, claims, transaction and marketing data to identify trends, opportunities and risks.
• Develop clear, decision-focused reporting and dashboards using Power BI.
• Write efficient, maintainable SQL to transform and analyse data across warehouse and lakehouse environments.
• Work with Microsoft Fabric, including Warehouses, Lakehouses, notebooks, pipelines and semantic models.
• Build and support reporting and workflow automations using Python, Fabric and Power Automate.
• Own analytical solutions from requirements gathering through development, validation, deployment, documentation and ongoing support.
• Investigate anomalies, reconcile results across systems and improve data quality and reporting reliability.
• Define and document business rules, calculations, data lineage and validation controls.
• Balance recurring operational reporting, quick-turnaround analysis and longer-term data projects.
• Partner with Marketing, Claims, Finance, Operations and Distribution to translate business questions into practical data solutions.
• Communicate findings clearly, including the commercial impact, limitations and recommended actions.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity while maintaining appropriate review, validation and data security.

What will you bring to the role?

• Experience in insurance, particularly retail motor insurance or claims. This is highly regarded but not essential.
• At least 3 years’ experience in data analysis, business intelligence or a related role.
• Strong SQL skills, including joins, aggregations, data validation and troubleshooting.
• Practical experience developing Power BI reports, data models and DAX measures.
• Strong analytical judgement and the ability to identify when results appear incomplete, inconsistent or commercially implausible.
• Experience working with data from multiple systems and documenting transformation and calculation logic.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills, including translating loosely defined questions into clear analytical requirements.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership of work through to completion.
• A builder’s mindset, with the initiative to create and improve solutions rather than waiting for fully defined requirements or established processes.
