Job summary

Envest Direct Agencies is seeking a Product Owner to define, prioritise and deliver products and enhancements that drive customer outcomes and operational excellence. You will bridge business stakeholders, technology teams and engagement functions to ensure value and strategic alignment.

The role emphasises portfolio ownership, backlog prioritisation and collaboration across Sales, Claims or Underwriting streams.

Qualifications

• Experience as Product Owner or Business Analyst in complex environments.
• Desirable tertiary qualification in business, technology, or related discipline.
• Agile, Scrum or product management certification (CSPO, SAFe) highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of product lifecycle and backlog prioritisation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

The Product Owner is responsible for defining, prioritising, and delivering products, systems, and enhancements that enable effective customer outcomes and operational excellence within their assigned portfolio of either Distribution, Claims or Underwriting & Pricing. Acting as the bridge between business stakeholders, technology teams, and customer engagement functions, the Product Owner ensures solutions meet customer needs, deliver business value, and support strategic objectives set by EDA to deliver on our purpose and customer experience.

As a Product Owner, You Will

• Act as the single point of accountability for assigned portfolio products, platforms, or system capabilities, ensuring they deliver value to both the business and customers.
• Gather, analyse, and prioritise business requirements from multiple stakeholders within the portfolio, translating them into clear product backlogs and actionable user stories.
• Collaborate closely with technology, operations, and customer engagement teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of system changes, process enhancements, or new product features.
• Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the portfolio, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, customer needs, and regulatory requirements.
• Work with the Head of Product and Marketing and other senior leaders to identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and digital enablement within the portfolio.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring transparency on product progress, risks, and delivery timelines.
• Conduct user acceptance testing, quality assurance, and validation to ensure solutions meet agreed requirements and deliver intended outcomes.
• Monitor product performance post-implementation, gathering insights and feedback to drive continuous improvement.

What will you bring to the role?

• Proven experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in complex operational environments, ideally within insurance or financial services.
• Tertiary qualification in business, technology, or related discipline desirable.
• Agile, Scrum, or product management certification (e.g., CSPO, SAFe) highly regarded.
• Deep understanding of the assigned portfolio, either Sales & Service or Claims, including associated processes and customer journeys.
• Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management, Agile delivery methodologies, and backlog prioritisation.
• Experience working across multi-disciplinary teams, balancing customer needs, business priorities, and technical feasibility.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in the insurance/financial services industry is highly desirable.
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable and measurable product outcomes.
