Job summary

Envest Direct Agencies on the Sunshine Coast is seeking a Product Owner to shape products, systems and enhancements across Distribution, Claims, or Underwriting & Pricing. You will translate customer needs and business priorities into a clear product backlog, driving value with agile delivery.

You'll collaborate with technology, operations and marketing leaders to define the vision and roadmap, while ensuring regulatory alignment and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Product Owner or Business Analyst in complex environments such as insurance or financial services.
• Tertiary qualification in business, technology, or related discipline desirable.
• Agile, Scrum, or product management certification (CSPO/SAFe) highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of product lifecycle, backlog prioritisation, and customer journeys.

Responsibilities

• As the single point of accountability for assigned portfolio products, ensure delivery of value to business and customers.
• Gather, analyse, and prioritise requirements from multiple stakeholders into clear backlogs and stories.
• Collaborate with technology, operations, and customer engagement teams for timely delivery of changes.
• Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with priorities and regulatory needs.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and digital enablement.

• Monitor product performance post-implementation and drive continuous improvement.

From defining roadmaps and prioritising opportunities to bringing new features and improvements to life, you'll play a key role in helping us create smarter solutions, better customer outcomes, and experiences that keep our customers adventuring with confidence.

As a Product Owner, you will:

• Act as the single point of accountability for assigned portfolio products, platforms, or system capabilities, ensuring they deliver value to both the business and customers.
• Gather, analyse, and prioritise business requirements from multiple stakeholders within the portfolio, translating them into clear product backlogs and actionable user stories.
• Collaborate closely with technology, operations, and customer engagement teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of system changes, process enhancements, or new product features.
• Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the portfolio, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities, customer needs, and regulatory requirements.
• Work with the Head of Product and Marketing and other senior leaders to identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and digital enablement within the portfolio.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, ensuring transparency on product progress, risks, and delivery timelines.
• Conduct user acceptance testing, quality assurance, and validation to ensure solutions meet agreed requirements and deliver intended outcomes.
• Monitor product performance post-implementation, gathering insights and feedback to drive continuous improvement.

What will you bring to the role?

• Proven experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in complex operational environments, ideally within insurance or financial services.
• Tertiary qualification in business, technology, or related discipline desirable.
• Agile, Scrum, or product management certification (e.g., CSPO, SAFe) highly regarded.
• Deep understanding of the assigned portfolio, either Sales & Service or Claims, including associated processes and customer journeys.
• Strong knowledge of product lifecycle management, Agile delivery methodologies, and backlog prioritisation.
• Experience working across multi-disciplinary teams, balancing customer needs, business priorities, and technical feasibility.
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in the insurance/financial services industry is highly desirable.
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable and measurable product outcomes.
