Job summary

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is seeking an experienced data professional to contribute to its cloud data platform. You will participate in designing, building, deploying and maintaining data assets and products, while presenting complex options to diverse audiences.

You will prototype high-quality solutions from complex datasets, manage data quality, and collaborate across small cross-functional teams within the NDIA’s enterprise data environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive data analysis experience with prototype solutions from complex disparate datasets.
• Advanced programming expertise across SQL, SAS, R, and/or Python (6+ years).
• Ability to work independently with clear purpose and high-quality outcomes under tight deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate in a team, share skills, and take joint accountability for outcomes.
• Experience in an industrialised Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment and data pipelines.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to translate discussions into data flows and process docs.

Responsibilities

• Active participation in small, multi-disciplinary teams to design, build, deploy and maintain data assets and data products in the NDIA cloud data platform.
• Present complex technical options and results to audiences with varying data literacy.
• Perform data wrangling, profiling and quality assessment of new or changed data sources and integrations.
• Translate business rules into coded data transformations.
• Design and prototype new data attributes and products.
• Conduct data validation testing including defect and anomaly remediation.
• Share accountability for robust, error-free data products and maintain documentation standards.

Citizenship:

Key duties and responsibilities

• Active participation in small, multi-disciplinary teams, in the design, build, deployment and maintenance of data assets and data products in the NDIAs cloud data platform.
• Presentation of complex technical options, decisions and results tailored to audiences with different levels of technical and data literacy.
• Data wrangling, profiling and quality assessment of new or changed data sources and new data integrations
• Translation of business rules and requirements into coded transformations
• Design and prototype development of new data attributes and products
• Data validation testing including defect and anomaly remediation
• Shared accountability for data products that are robust and error free
• Maintaining code base and documentation standards, and sharing knowledge across analyst teams

Essential criteria

• 1. Extensive data analysis experience with a strong ability to prototype high quality solutions from complex disparate datasets.
• 2. Advanced programming expertise (6+ years) across SQL, SAS, R, and/or Python.
• 3. Proven ability to work independently with a clear purpose and deliver high-quality outcomes with limited supervision under tight deadlines.
• 4. Ability to work as part of a team with active collaboration, sharing of skills and capacity, and shared accountability for team outcomes
• 5. Experience working within an industrialised Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) environment and understanding of data pipelines, modelling and data and reporting platform architectures
• 6. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to translate business discussions into data flows and process documentation while collaborating effectively in team settings.

Desirable criteria

• 1. Experience with Snowflake, or other cloud data platforms and SAS Viya platforms.
• 2. Familiarity with Fabric Power BI reporting platform
• 3. Adaptability and willingness to learn new analytics platforms and tools as required.
