Job summary

Jacobs’ Water group is seeking Dams Engineers of all levels to deliver a pipeline of dam safety projects across Australia. The role will work across geographies, collaborating with water authorities, government, and mining clients.

In partnership with Sunwater, you will manage the ALARP program for 20 dams, focusing on safe water supply. You will assess project requirements, carry out inspections, and advance projects through planning, design, and construction.

Qualifications

• Strong technical knowledge and experience in the design of hydraulic structures.
• Experience with dam safety management, inspections, and risk assessment.
• Ability to manage client relationships positively.
• Passion for mentoring and training engineers.
• Ability to build constructive, balanced relationships across multidisciplinary teams.

You will assess project requirements, carry out inspections, and advance projects through planning, design, and construction. Additionally, you will support waterway engineering teams and mentor junior engineers.

Required Skills

• A tertiary qualification in engineering
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in the design of hydraulic structures
• Experience with dam safety management, inspections, and risk assessment
• Ability to manage client relationships positively
• Passion for mentoring and training engineers
• Ability to build constructive, balanced relationships across multidisciplinary teams

Desirable Qualifications

• Membership of Engineers Australia or equivalent
• Chartered Professional Engineer or equivalent
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) and/or of Victoria (RPEV)
