Job summary

Jacobs Water group in Australia seeks Dams Engineers of all levels to deliver a pipeline of dam safety projects. You will work across geographies with water authorities, government and mining clients, and help manage the ALARP program for 20 dams to ensure safe water supply.

You will assess requirements, perform inspections, and progress projects through planning, design and construction while mentoring junior engineers and supporting waterway teams.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in engineering.
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in hydraulic structures design.
• Experience with dam safety management, inspections and risk assessment.
• Ability to manage client relationships positively.
• Passion for mentoring and training engineers.
• Ability to build constructive relationships across multidisciplinary teams.

About the Role

Jacobs’ Water group is looking for Dams Engineers of all levels to help deliver a pipeline of dam safety projects across Australia. The role will work across multiple geographies, collaborating with water authorities, government, and mining clients. In partnership with Sunwater, you will manage the ALARP program for 20 dams, focusing on safe water supply.

Key Responsibilities

You will assess project requirements, carry out inspections, and advance projects through planning, design, and construction. Additionally, you will support waterway engineering teams and mentor junior engineers.

Required Skills

• A tertiary qualification in engineering
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in the design of hydraulic structures
• Experience with dam safety management, inspections, and risk assessment

Desirable Qualifications

• Membership of Engineers Australia or equivalent
• Chartered Professional Engineer or equivalent
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) and/or of Victoria (RPEV)
