Job summary

Jacobs is seeking Dams Engineers at all levels to deliver a pipeline of dam safety projects across Australia, partnering with Sunwater to manage the ALARP program for 20 dams and ensure safe water supply.

You will work across geographies, collaborating with water authorities, government, and mining clients, and mentor junior engineers while supporting design and construction activities.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent required.
• Experience in hydraulic structures design and dam safety management.
• Inspections and risk assessment experience in dam projects.
• Ability to manage client relationships positively.
• Mentoring and training engineers to develop the team.
• Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

About the Role

Jacobs’ Water group is looking for Dams Engineers of all levels to help deliver a pipeline of dam safety projects across Australia. The role will work across multiple geographies, collaborating with water authorities, government, and mining clients. In partnership with Sunwater, you will manage the ALARP program for 20 dams, focusing on safe water supply.

Key Responsibilities

You will assess project requirements, carry out inspections, and advance projects through planning, design, and construction. Additionally, you will support waterway engineering teams and mentor junior engineers.

Required Skills

• A tertiary qualification in engineering
• Strong technical knowledge and experience in the design of hydraulic structures
• Experience with dam safety management, inspections, and risk assessment
• Ability to manage client relationships positively
• Passion for mentoring and training engineers
• Ability to build constructive, balanced relationships across multidisciplinary teams

Desirable Qualifications

• Membership of Engineers Australia or equivalent
• Chartered Professional Engineer or equivalent
