Cleared Recruitment is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to lead design, implementation, and governance of cybersecurity architecture across defence-grade environments in Canberra. You will work with engineering and operations teams to ensure secure, compliant, and resilient systems, including ATO-related controls.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of cybersecurity experience in defence/government/critical infrastructure.
• Strong Linux administration and network security expertise.
• Experience securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Hands-on with security automation and monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of Australian ISM and Essential Eight.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure cyber architectures across classified environments.
• Engineer and implement security controls per Australian ISM and Essential Eight.
• Develop security solutions across Linux, networks, cloud and enterprise systems.
• Automate security processes via scripting and IaC.
• Deploy and manage SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability management and monitoring tools.
• Support ATO activities through security controls and risk management.
• Collaborate with DevOps to embed security-by-design.
