Job summary

Goodstart Early Learning seeks an experienced ICT Security Lead (Technical) to strengthen cybersecurity, IAM, and threat resilience. You will design and implement Entra ID security controls, Defender and Sentinel configurations, and Essential Eight controls while coordinating with infrastructure, apps and business teams.

This hands-on role requires translating complex risks into practical actions and leading incident response activities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cybersecurity engineering or hands-on security roles.
• Hands-on experience designing Entra ID, CA, PIM and PAM.
• Hands-on Defender and Sentinel configuration, analytics and playbooks.
• Experience implementing Essential Eight controls.
• Proven remediation of vulnerabilities and pen-test findings.
• Incident response experience including triage and evidence handling.
• Knowledge of digital certificates, root certs and token management.
• Strong identity security knowledge, incl. phishing resistance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.
• Relevant IT/Cybersecurity degree or equivalent.
• Industry certs such as CISSP/CISM are valued, but hands-on work is essential.
• Current QLD Blue Card or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Design and continuously improve Entra ID security controls (CA, PIM, PAM).
• Configure Defender and Sentinel policies, analytics and playbooks.
• Implement and mature Essential Eight controls across the environment.
• Lead remediation of vulnerabilities and pen-test findings with teams.
• Participate in security incident response and evidence handling.
• Manage digital certificates and authentication tokens security.
• Identify security risks and translate them into actionable guidance.
• Monitor and improve security controls for better cyber resilience.
• Collaborate with ICT teams to implement security improvements.
• Translate complex findings into clear non-technical recommendations.
• Contribute to security engineering standards and practices.
