Job summary

Experis Australia Pty Ltd. is seeking a Cyber Threat Analyst to join a federal government program in Canberra. The role focuses on proactive threat hunting, incident response, and threat intelligence across networks, endpoints, and cloud environments.

You will investigate incidents, perform malware analysis, and contribute to threat modelling while coordinating with security operations and vulnerability teams to strengthen cyber resilience. Weekly pay applies to this position.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in cyber threat hunting, incident response, threat intelligence, or digital forensics.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Defender, KQL, SIEM/EDR platforms, and security monitoring tools.
• Experience with malware analysis, threat modelling, and intrusion detection.
• Knowledge of PSPF, ISM, Essential Eight, and NIST.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and/or Python.
• Experience working across Windows, Linux, Active Directory, Entra ID, and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cyber Threat Analyst with expertise in threat hunting, incident response, malware analysis, and cyber threat intelligence.

Desirable

• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic, QRadar, Rapid7, Tenable, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Relevant cyber security certifications such as CREST, GIAC, GCIA, GCIH, or equivalent.
