Job summary

Raytheon Australia is seeking a Senior Systems & Cyber Security Specialist to lead cyber security engineering across maritime C4I, Mission System ICT and OT systems, in close partnership with Defence stakeholders.

You will ensure systems remain secure, accredited and operationally effective, drive cyber resilience, support certification activities, and mentor teams to embed secure-by-design practices across sustainment lifecycles.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in cyber security systems engineering or related discipline.
• Tertiary qualification in cyber security, systems engineering, CS/IT, or engineering.
• Experience in defence, maritime, aerospace or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of governance, risk, assurance, certification and accreditation processes.
• Experience developing and maintaining cyber security documentation and artefacts.
• Understanding of C4I, OT, mission systems and ICT environments.
• Ability to identify and manage cyber threats and remediation activities.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Eligibility to obtain Australian Defence security clearance.
• Travel availability may be required.
• Desirable defence industry experience and professional certifications.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary cyber security focal point for C4I, Mission System ICT, and cyber-sensitive OT systems.
• Lead cyber risk management, including threat analysis, mitigation, and residual risk communication.
• Assess changes and updates for cyber-worthiness impacts and ensure baselines and accreditation requirements align.
• Develop, review, and maintain cyber security artefacts and documentation.
• Support certification and accreditation activities with evidence and security assurance documentation.
• Provide cyber engineering support for incident detection, response, and recovery.
• Conduct security assessments related to sustainment, updates, and supply chain assurance.
• Engage with Defence stakeholders and authorities to provide authoritative cyber security advice.
• Promote secure-by-design principles and continuous improvement across teams.
