Job summary

Redland City Council is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Operations Analyst to lead and evolve the Council's cyber security operations. You will drive threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management and security assurance across a diverse technology landscape, aligning with the ASD Essential Eight.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver continuous improvement, security awareness, and operational excellence, protecting critical services on Redlands Coast.

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security operations within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 security technologies including Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, Purview and Azure.
• Experience leading cyber incident response, investigations, threat management and security monitoring.
• Knowledge of ASD Essential Eight, ASD ISM, ISO 27001 and NIST CSF.

Responsibilities

• Lead cyber operations–Coordinate day-to-day cyber security operations, monitoring and response activities.
• Protect and defend–Investigate security alerts, activity and threats with timely response.
• Drive incident response–Lead triage, investigations, recovery and lessons learned.
• Strengthen security controls–Uplift security posture per Essential Eight and best practices.
• Provide trusted advice–Guide on cyber risks and new technologies.
