Job summary

City of Stonnington invites applications for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to strengthen cyber security capabilities across the Technology Enablement team. You will help protect Council services by developing security frameworks, tools, controls, assessments and incident response practices.

You will lead security activities, work with the external Security Operations Centre, and drive governance, policies and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in cyber security, infrastructure, network administration or security engineering.
• Experience conducting security assessments and coordinating vulnerability activities.
• Experience developing or improving cyber security frameworks, governance, policies and standards.
• Experience managing or engineering security tools, playbooks and automation.
• Certifications in cyber security or security operations highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead security assessments for Council services with clear recommendations.
• Coordinate regular security and vulnerability assessments and plan mitigations.
• Ensure remediation and mitigation activities are prioritized and tracked.
• Provide decision-makers with clear cyber security advice and reporting.
• Develop and maintain Council’s security playbooks, tools and incident response assets.
• Collaborate with external SOC provider to support incident response.
