Job summary

Redland City Council is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Operations Analyst to lead cyber security operations, monitor threats, and coordinate incident responses across a diverse technology landscape. This role focuses on defending critical services and driving continuous improvement aligned to the ASD Essential Eight framework.

You will work with stakeholders to provide expert guidance on risks, vulnerabilities, and new technologies while uplifting security capabilities across council systems.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in cyber security operations within complex enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 security technologies, including Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID, Purview and Azure.
• Experience leading cyber incident response and security monitoring activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead cyber operations - Coordinate Council's day-to-day cyber security operations, monitoring and response activities.
• Protect and defend - Investigate security alerts, suspicious activity and cyber threats, providing timely response and mitigation strategies.
• Drive incident response - Lead cyber incident triage, investigations, recovery activities and lessons learned.
• Strengthen security controls - Continually uplift Council's security posture in line with Essential Eight.
