Job summary

Randstad, on behalf of a public sector client, is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer for a 12-month contract based in Brisbane CBD with flexible work-from-home options. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and operating security solutions across IAM, network, cloud, and data protection domains.

You will collaborate with architects, infrastructure teams and vendors to embed robust security controls, and contribute to security advisories, standards, and training for the operations team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Cyber Security Engineer or Security Engineer within a complex enterprise environment.
• Familiarity with cyber security frameworks and standards (e.g., Essential Eight, NIST CSF, ISO 27001) and relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, AZ-500, Security+).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operationalise cyber security solutions across IAM, network, endpoint, cloud, and data protection domains.
• Provide expert cyber security advisory services and work with architects, infrastructure teams, and vendors to embed security controls.
• Execute configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and validation activities across diverse security platforms.
• Develop solution designs, technical standards, operating procedures, and test plans to meet security requirements.
• Lead readiness, transition-to-operations, and knowledge transfer through training for support teams.
