Job summary

Peoplebank is seeking a hands-on ICT Cyber Security Engineer for a Brisbane-based, 12-month contract. The role delivers security engineering and uplift initiatives across a large enterprise, from design through implementation and handover.

You will work across IAM, network, endpoint, cloud, data protection, monitoring and incident response, providing guidance to project teams and aligning security controls with business needs.

Qualifications

• Strong background as a Cyber Security Engineer in a complex enterprise environment.
• Hands-on delivery across multiple security technology domains.
• Ability to translate security + business requirements into secure, supportable technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver components of cyber uplift initiatives and security projects.
• Design, implement and operate security solutions across IAM, network, endpoint, cloud, data protection, monitoring, and incident response.
• Provide security engineering advice to project teams, operational teams and stakeholders.
• Work with architects and vendors to embed security controls into solutions.
• Perform integration, troubleshooting and uplift activities across security platforms.
• Develop testing/validation to confirm controls meet requirements.
• Produce implementation documentation, standards, procedures and runbooks.
• Support procurement activities and requirements analysis.

About the Role:

We are seeking a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer to deliver security engineering and uplift initiatives across a large enterprise environment design through implementation, testing, and operational handover.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver technical components of cyber uplift initiatives and security-related projects (working with Project/Program Managers)
• Design, configure, implement and operationalise security solutions across domains such as:
  • Identity & access management
  • Network security
  • Endpoint security
  • Cloud security
  • Data protection
  • Security monitoring / detection
  • Incident response & resilience
  • Security awareness enablement (as required)
• Provide security engineering advice to project teams, operational teams, and stakeholders
• Work with architects, infrastructure teams and vendors to embed security controls into solutions
• Perform technical integration, troubleshooting, remediation and uplift activities across security platforms
• Develop and execute testing/validation to confirm controls meet requirements
• Support transition-to-operations: operational readiness, support model, documentation, and knowledge transfer
• Produce implementation documentation, standards, procedures, and runbooks
• Support procurement activities (requirements definition, options analysis, vendor evaluation)

Qualifications:

• Strong background as a Cyber Security Engineer / Security Engineer in a complex enterprise environment
• Demonstrated hands-on delivery across multiple security technology domains
• Ability to translate security + business requirements into secure, supportable technical solutions
• Proven experience with implementation, integration, troubleshooting and remediation on enterprise security platforms
• Strong stakeholder engagement + documentation/knowledge transfer skills
