Job summary

Wesfarmers Health is seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our Enterprise Technology team. Reporting to Senior Manager - Cyber Security, you’ll help protect and strengthen our cyber security landscape by designing, implementing and maintaining security solutions across our systems, infrastructure and information assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in cyber security engineering or a related role.
• Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
• Deep knowledge of security technologies, concepts and practices.
• Experience in security incident detection, response, and investigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain security solutions across digital and enterprise environments.
• Drive security engineering initiatives including SIEM, EDR, SASE, AI Guardrails, DLP and security automation.
• Lead and support the cyber program with vulnerability management, access management and incident response.
• Partner with technology teams to integrate security controls into applications, services, infrastructure and platforms.

What you’ll do:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our Enterprise Technology team. Reporting to Senior Manager - Cyber Security, you’ll help protect and strengthen Wesfarmers Health’s cyber security landscape by designing, implementing and maintaining security solutions that safeguard our systems, infrastructure and information assets.

Working across a diverse technology environment, you’ll play a key role in embedding security‑by‑design principles, enhancing security operations, and ensuring we stay ahead of emerging cyber threats. This is an opportunity to work with modern technologies, influence security strategy, and make a meaningful impact across a large and evolving organisation

You’ll make an impact by:

• Designing, implementing and maintaining security solutions across digital and enterprise environments
• Driving security engineering initiatives including SIEM, EDR, SASE, AI Guardrails, DLP and security automation
• Leading and supporting the ongoing cyber program with the enhancing vulnerability management, access management and incident response initiatives
• Partnering with technology teams to integrate security controls into applications, services, infrastructure and platforms

What you’ll bring:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in cyber security engineering or a related role, preferably within the healthcare industry.
• In‑depth knowledge of security technologies, concepts, and practices
• Understanding of secure architecture principles and frameworks
• Experience in security incident detection, response, and investigation
• Familiarity with security risk management methodologies and frameworks
• Proficient in conducting security assessments, audits, and consulting
• Ability to maintain a close watch on external cyber security threats and developments relative to the healthcare and retail industries
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
