Job summary

ASX is seeking a senior Cyber Defence leader to drive proactive security across ASX's market infrastructure and data. You will lead the SOC, threat hunting, incident response, and leverage AI-enabled security to protect critical assets and information.

This role requires 10+ years in technology with 5+ years in IT leadership and deep domain expertise in cyber security, risk, and resilience. Hybrid working and flexible arrangements are offered.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in technology with leadership experience.
• 5+ years in IT leadership and 5+ years specialising in cyber security.
• Executive translation of threat data for board-level audiences.
• Experience embedding AI and automation into security workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the proactive cyber defence strategy to minimise attacker dwell time.
• Oversee SOC, threat detection, monitoring and incident response.
• Direct engineering with agentic AI for automated detection and response.
• Advance threat intelligence and proactive hunting across enterprise risks.
• Drive continuous improvement of defence capabilities, processes and models.
• Oversee threat intelligence, hunting and adversary detection activities.
• Lead incident response with containment, eradication and recovery.
• Manage cyber defence tooling: SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR and analytics.
• Develop cyber resilience capabilities including monitoring and crisis planning.
• Establish metrics and dashboards to report risks to executives.
• Partner with tech, risk and business teams to strengthen controls.
• Manage third-party security operations providers and partnerships.
• Build and mentor a high-performing cyber defence team.
• Support regulatory, audit and compliance through evidence collection.
