Job summary

Department of Transport and Main Roads QLD – Buderim QLD seeks a cultural heritage advisor to support multiple project delivery teams. You will provide heritage advice, manage assessments and reports, and work with stakeholders including Traditional Owners to ensure compliance with policy and legislation.

Role involves mentoring team members, procuring consultants, and developing new heritage management systems to improve regional operations.

Qualifications

• Must hold a degree in archaeology, anthropology, or cultural heritage management.
• Criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment.
• Current Class C driver's licence.
• Desirable: membership of AAA/ICOMOS or ISAP.

Responsibilities

• Provide cultural heritage advice and management services for regional transport infrastructure projects.
• Promote and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including Traditional Owner groups.
• Prepare reports, management plans and agreements on cultural heritage matters.
• Undertake cultural heritage assessments and participate in field surveys and audits.
• Manage consultants delivering cultural heritage services and procurement.
• Develop and implement new systems to improve heritage management performance.
