Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a Cultural Heritage Advisor to support regional transport infrastructure projects, providing expert heritage advice and management services across planning, design, construction and maintenance.

You will lead field surveys, manage consultants, develop systems to improve heritage performance, train stakeholders, and represent the department on external groups.

Qualifications

• Mandatory degree in archaeology, anthropology or cultural heritage management.
• Current holder of Class C driver's licence.
• Desirable: Membership of professional bodies e.g. AAA/ICOMOS, or related discipline.
• Desirable: ISAP eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Serve as cultural heritage advisor on multiple project delivery teams and provide heritage advice and management services across regional infrastructure programs.
• Promote and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including Traditional Owner groups.
• Provide information and advice on legislation, policy, procedures, and requirements for cultural heritage management.
• Undertake cultural heritage assessments, prepare reports, management plans and agreements.
• Manage cultural heritage services provided by consultants and develop project briefs and procurement.
• Develop and implement new systems and procedures to improve heritage management performance and deliver training packages.
