Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure NSW in Port Macquarie is seeking a Senior Natural Resource Management Officer to help manage Crown land and protect the environment for NSW communities.

You will provide practical guidance on land management, engage with stakeholders across government and negotiate solutions, while maintaining records and supporting risk reduction and project delivery across the north coast region.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental, natural resource, land or property management.
• Clear, practical advice and recommendations.
• Ability to interpret legislation, policies and procedures.
• Strong organisational skills; manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with stakeholders.
• Problem-solving and sound decision-making in a complex environment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, natural resources, planning or equivalent.
• Willing and able to travel.

Responsabilités

• Providing advice on Crown land, environmental and land management matters to support informed decision-making.
• Assessing and progressing land management, environmental and planning matters in line with legislation and policy.
• Supporting negotiations and helping resolve Crown land issues practically.
• Coordinating hazard reduction and risk mitigation activities to promote safe public use of Crown land.
• Maintaining accurate land and property records and information systems.
• Managing competing priorities and contributing to projects and administrative activities to deliver outcomes on time.
• Undertaking site inspections and assessments across locations.
