Job summary

ICON Engineering is seeking a senior cost controller to own cost control across a diverse offshore brownfields and P&A portfolio in Australia and SE Asia. You will build budgets, run EVA, and provide accurate cost readings directly to project managers on live projects rather than just monthly reports.

The role demands 6–9 years in oil & gas cost control, experience with contractor environments, and a tertiary engineering/PM/QS qualification.

Qualifications

6–9 years' cost control experience in oil and gas, with offshore exposure ideal.
Experience in a contractor environment, not solely client-side.
Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, PM, or QS.
Proven ownership of cost control on complex multi-contractor projects.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain control budgets and estimates across the full project life cycle.
Lead Value of Work Done evaluations for subcontractors and clients.
Drive forecasting and Estimate to Complete analysis across active scopes.
Perform earned value analysis, cost reporting, and cost performance evaluation.
Identify and analyse cost variances, risks and opportunities, and accelerate where needed.
Assess variations and claims and manage cost change control end-to-end.
Present cost performance data and forecasts directly to Project Managers and senior stakeholders.
Mentor junior cost control staff where portfolio structure requires it.
