Job summary

ICON Engineering is seeking a senior Cost Controller to own cost control on a portfolio of offshore and brownfields projects. You’ll build control budgets, run EVA, and drive forecasting and ECT analyses with direct collaboration with Project Managers.

The role demands 6–9 years in oil & gas cost control, contractor environment experience, and a strong grasp of budgeting, risk analysis, and MS Project. Perth-based with diverse project scopes including rig mods and P&A campaigns.

Qualifications

• 6-9 years cost control experience in oil & gas, offshore preferred.
• Experience in contractor environments, not only client-side.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, PM or QS.
• Proven ownership of budgets, EVA, and variance analysis.
• Proficient with MS Project or equivalent cost/schedule tools.
• Ability to communicate cost performance to Project Managers and senior stakeholders.
• Experience on Tier 1 operator projects.
• Exposure to probabilistic cost analysis and risk.
• Experience across rig modifications, P&A, brownfields.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain control budgets and estimates across the full project life cycle.
• Lead Value of Work Done evaluations for subcontractors and clients.
• Drive project forecasting and Estimate to Complete analysis across active scopes.
• Perform earned value analysis and cost reporting.
• Identify and analyse cost variances, trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Assess variations and claims and manage cost change control end-to-end.
• Present cost performance data and forecasts directly to Project Managers.
• Mentor junior cost control or project services staff where portfolio structure requires it.
