MLex, a LexisNexis company, seeks a reporter to cover financial services legislation and regulation with a focus on the UK. The role involves deep-dive analysis, breaking market-moving news, and providing forward-looking insight for decision-makers.

You will research, interview, and write high-impact investigations, while collaborating with global teams across multiple offices. A journalism degree or equivalent experience is required, with fluent English and newsroom experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Great reporting, media or publishing industry experience or knowledge
• Collaborative approach with the ability to work across international teams
• Commitment to producing high-quality, accurate reporting
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Fluent command of English; ability in other European languages an advantage
• Newsroom experience, ideally from covering financial services regulation

The core role is covering financial services legislation and regulation, with a focus on the UK. MLex seeks to get ahead of the procedural story through deep-dive analysis of current and emerging trends to anticipate where regulatory risks may lie. It’s a high-pressure beat in which there’s an expectation that you’ll break market-moving news while offering the forward-looking insight that helps inform decision-makers.
