Job summary

Hooker & Heijden in Sydney CBD is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join the corporate and commercial practice on permanent, full-time basis. The role focuses on sophisticated M&A, equity capital markets, and regulatory advice for financial services clients.

You will work on large-scale transactions, support cross-border deals, and provide strategic guidance to clients such as banks, funds, insurers, and fintechs, with flexibility around working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Associate (around 4+ years PAE) or Senior Associate.
• Corporate transactional experience (M&A or equity capital markets) and/or financial services regulatory experience in superannuation, insurance, funds management, banking, payments, fintech or AFS licensing
• Large firm and large scale transaction experience preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication; senior applicants able to run matters with minimal supervision
• Full working rights in Australia and a current practising certificate

Responsibilities

• Support M&A and private capital transactions.
• Work on equity capital markets including IPOs, placements and other raisings.
• Provide regulatory advisory services in financial services and related licensing areas.
