Foundry Talent Partners is assisting a boutique financial services firm in Sydney to appoint a Financial Accountant. You will join a small, high-performing finance team and own end-to-end financial responsibilities across the function.
Reporting to the CFO, you will deliver management reports, payroll, BAS/IAS/FBT, and take part in group consolidation and audits. The role offers 4 days in-office at the CBD, with hybrid flexibility.
Our client is a well-established boutique financial services firm based in Sydney. They're a small, high-performing team with a group structure that includes a licensed investment management entity. They're looking for a Financial Accountant to join the finance team and take on a genuinely broad role, ideally a qualified Accountant coming from a similar sized firm.
Reporting to the CFO and working day to day with the Head of Finance, you'll contribute to upholding financial control across the group.
You'll prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting packs, including budget-to-actual analysis, cash flow reporting and commentary on key variances.
You'll manage banking and payment runs, assist with accounts payable, and process journals and reconciliations.
You'll complete month end, balance sheet reconciliations and group consolidation reporting.
You'll partner with the investment team to track portfolio performance, budgets and cash flow forecasts, and maintain the investment accounting schedules.
You'll prepare BAS, IAS, payroll tax, FBT and other statutory returns.
You'll run monthly payroll end to end, including onboarding and offboarding.
You'll support the annual statutory audit across group entities.
You'll get involved in process improvement projects, including systems upgrades and AI-driven efficiencies.
You have 3+ years' experience in a Financial Accounting or Financial Control role.
CA or CPA qualified (ideal), or close to completing.
You've come from a smaller business, family office or business services firm, and you're comfortable being across the whole finance function rather than one piece of it.
You have hands-on experience preparing payroll, BAS, IAS and FBT.
You're confident with month end, balance sheet recs and management reporting.
Strong Excel skills, and Xero experience is a bonus.
Exposure to financial services or investments is helpful but not essential. If you've got the right generalist grounding, they'll teach you the industry side.
This is a genuine opportunity to step into a growing Financial Services firm and contribute across the whole Finance function.
