Job summary

Key Integrated, a Brooklyn, VIC-based commercial builder, seeks a seasoned Contracts Administrator to own the commercial and procurement aspects from award through completion. You will lead contracts, costs, subcontracts and progress claims, while mentoring junior team members and ensuring robust project controls.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience as a Contracts Administrator with a commercial builder.
• Strong working knowledge of head contracts and subcontract administration.
• High level of commercial and financial acumen.
• Excellent written communication and negotiation skills.
• Organised, proactive and solutions-focused under pressure.
• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, QS or similar regarded.

Responsibilities

• Administer the head contract under the PM's direction, and prepare progress claims, variations, EOTs and contractual notices.
• Keep contract registers and records up to date.
• Prepare scopes, tender packages and pricing schedules, then compare tenders and make recommendations.
• Negotiate and award subcontracts and manage onboarding and ongoing administration.
• Track costs against budget and prepare forecasts, cost-to-complete reports and cash flow.
• Assess and certify subcontractor claims and feed into monthly cost reporting.
• Make sure site staff understand scope, inclusions, exclusions and key obligations.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers and consultants, and attend project meetings.
• Manage claims, variations and commercial risk early and professionally, and support value engineering and buildability reviews.
• Mentor junior CAs and cadets where needed.
