Job summary

Hutchinson Builders is seeking a commercially minded Contract Administrator / Senior Contract Administrator to join our Sydney team and shape delivery of upcoming work. You will work with Project Managers, Site Managers, clients and subcontractors to drive commercial outcomes and keep projects moving.

You’ll manage procurement, variations, forecasts and contract administration, while mentoring junior team members and contributing to project performance from day one.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in the respective field for this role.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of market conditions, construction techniques, and industry standards.
• Ability to work in a team environment and have initiative when working independently.

Responsibilities

• Preparation, negotiation and administration of Head Contracts, Subcontracts, Supply Agreements and Purchase Orders.
• Managing procurement processes, including tendering, trade break-ups, scope reviews and subcontractor engagement.
• Managing complex variations, EOTs, claims and all contractual correspondence.
• Monitoring project financial performance, including cost-to-complete, forecasting and margin protection.
• Preparing and managing cash flow projections and monthly financial reports.
• Leading progress claim preparation, submission and negotiation with the client.
• Reviewing and approving subcontractor progress claims and invoices.
• Ensuring contract compliance, document control and adherence to governance processes.
• Identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks across the project lifecycle.
• Working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and broader delivery team to support project delivery.
