Overview

Senior Consultant - Railway Telecommunications role within SYSTRA ANZ, based in Perth. This position provides technical leadership in railway telecommunications systems supporting mission-critical and business-critical applications.

About the role
  • Lead the planning, execution, and technical review of complex railway telecommunications projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and SYSTRA's IMS standards and processes.
  • Deliver high-quality telecommunications solutions supporting railway mission-critical and business-critical applications, tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, commercial, contract management, procurement, scheduling, and planning to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Maintain a strong focus on innovation, client satisfaction, and project efficiency, contributing to long-term client relationships and project profitability.
  • Oversee and review technical documentation, designs, and reports to ensure compliance with industry best practices and project specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship on telecommunications technologies relevant to the rail sector, including IP/MPLS and 3GPP (4G/5G) networks.
  • Engage with clients, stakeholders, and equipment suppliers (e.g., Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, Cisco, Juniper) to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and addressed.
  • Ensure all project deliverables meet statutory, regulatory, and safety standards, reflecting SYSTRA's commitment to quality.
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 6–8 years of experience in consulting with a strong background in railway telecommunications.
  • Direct experience with IP/MPLS and 5G equipment from major suppliers (e.g., Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei, Cisco, Juniper) is highly valued.
  • Proven expertise deploying 3GPP networks (4G/5G) and IP/MPLS solutions within railway environments is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, client-focused solutions within project timeframes and budgets.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, statutory requirements, and safety standards in the rail sector.
