Job summary

Mivada Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking a Senior Consultant specialising in Payroll, Absence and Time Tracking to join our growing Workday practice. This role focuses on Australian payroll with potential NZ involvement and offers a clear path to Workday certification.

You will lead payroll configuration, testing and deployments, advise on best practices, and collaborate with HR teams to ensure compliance and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR/BA/IS or related field.
• Experience in payroll systems implementations in Australia or NZ.
• Partnering with HR teams and payroll operations knowledge.
• Knowledge of Australian/NZ payroll compliance and reporting.
• Proficient using HRIS/payroll systems for daily tasks.

About The Role

We're seeking a Senior Consultant who specialises in Payroll, Absence, Time Tracking to join our growing Workday practice. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong payroll expertise with a passion for delivering exceptional client outcomes and building their consulting career. Experience with Workday is highly regarded, but not essential. If you bring strong payroll systems implementation experience from another platform, we're committed to supporting your transition and providing the opportunity to become Workday certified.

In this role, you'll work alongside clients to deliver payroll implementation projects, provide expert guidance on payroll processes and compliance, and help organisations realise the full value of their payroll solutions. The role is primarily focused on Australian payroll (approximately 80%), with opportunities to support New Zealand payroll initiatives as part of a broader ANZ practice.

You'll have the opportunity to broaden your skills, contribute to practice growth, and mentor junior consultants while working with some of Australia's leading organisations.

This role is based in our Barangaroo head office and offers a hybrid working arrangement. We are also open to candidates based in Melbourne.

What You'll Be Doing

• Configure and optimise Workday Payroll solutions to meet client requirements and business objectives.
• Lead payroll configuration, testing, and deployment activities across implementation projects.

• Develop payroll reporting and ensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve payroll-related system and process issues.
• Deliver end-user training, documentation, and post-go-live support.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.
• Support governance, risk, security, and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and Mivada's growth objectives.

What You Bring

Core Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field
• Experience in payroll systems implementations in Australia or New Zealand
• Experience partnering closely with HR teams, with a strong understanding of HR processes and payroll operations
• Strong knowledge of Australian or NZ payroll compliance requirements, including tax, superannuation, leave, garnishments, and reporting
• Proficient in using HRIS/payroll systems for day-to-day activities such as data management, reporting, workflow administration, and payroll processing

Skills

• Proven experience implementing and configuring payroll systems solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and client-facing communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Experience gathering requirements, facilitating workshops, and translating business needs into effective solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a consulting environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Workday Payroll
• Certifications in Workday HCM Functional and/or Payroll certification
