Job summary

empire group is expanding its construction team and seeks a construction lawyer to lead high‑value, complex litigation matters in NSW.

You will take day-to-day carriage of a diverse portfolio, representing clients in NCAT, District Court, and Supreme Court of NSW, alongside senior team members.

The role offers exposure to disputes, SOPA claims, expert engagement, and strategic regulatory guidance within a premier building and construction practice.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years PAE within building, construction, or commercial litigation in Australia.
• Familiarity with DBPA, Home Building Act, and SOPA mechanisms.
• Ability to manage files independently and mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Dispute resolution & litigation of construction disputes from start to resolution.
• Advise on SOPA claims and related procedures.
• Engage external experts and manage consultants.
• Provide strategic contract risk assessments and advisory support.
