Job summary

Astron Limited is seeking a Construction Health and Safety Superintendent to lead safety across the Donald Rare Earth and Mineral Sands Project site in western Victoria. This hands-on, field-based role covers from mobilisation through commissioning and handover, owning the safety management plan and driving critical risk controls.

Qualifications

• Requires tertiary qualification in occupational health and safety or a related discipline with at least a diploma; degree preferred.
• At least five years’ health and safety experience, including three+ years in superintendent or lead role on major construction projects.
• Experience implementing health and safety management systems and managing multiple contractors on large EPC/EPCM projects.
• Knowledge of Vic OH&S Act 2004 and Regulations 2017, high-risk construction work and principal contractor duties.
• ICAM lead investigator training is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible field leadership and model safety expectations on site.
• Own and implement the Project Construction Health and Safety Management Plan.
• Coach supervisors in safety leadership and promote incident reporting and learning.
• Lead critical risk management and provide data insights to focus field activities.
• Coordinate with regulators and stakeholders to ensure compliance.
• Approve contractor safety plans and conduct pre-mobilisation audits.
• Monitor occupational health monitoring including drug and alcohol testing.
