Job summary

Urban Design and Management Pty Ltd in Sunbury, VIC, is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to lead the construction phase of land development projects. You will coordinate a team of engineers and interface with clients and authorities to deliver on time and to spec.

The role requires 8–10 years of subdivision and infrastructure delivery, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects. CPEng or nearing chartership is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 8-10 years experience delivering subdivision and infrastructure projects.
• NER / CPEng (or working toward chartership) desirable.
• Experience liaising directly with clients and Council desirable.
• Knowledge of construction processes and site experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the construction phase of projects.
• Work with Design/Project Manager & Directors to meet client requirements and timeframes.
• Ensure compliance with authority requirements and handover after defect liability period.

Senior Construction Engineer - Land Development

As a Senior Construction Engineer in the Land Development team, you will work with a team of construction engineers and be responsible for co-ordinating and managing the construction phase of projects. You will administer contracts, approve progress claims and contract variations, monitor construction progress against programme and pre-empt and resolve any onsite construction problems.

Key responsibilities

• Co-ordinate and manage the construction phase of projects under the limited direction of the company directors.
• Work with the Design/Project Manager & Directors to ensure clients requirements and time frames are satisfied.
• Compliance with authority requirements for surveillance, auditing, release of specified hold points and a timely handover following completion of defect liability period.
• Administer contracts, approve progress claims and variations up to specified limits.
• Approve and issue site instructions.
• Organise, chair and minute site meetings.
• Pre-empt and resolve onsite construction problems.
• Prepare client status reports.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (Preferred but not essential).
• Minimum 8-10 year's experience in delivering subdivision and infrastructure projects.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• NER / CPEng (or working toward chartership) - Desirable.
