Job summary

AusNet Services is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead commercial delivery across a portfolio of large, complex infrastructure projects. The role focuses on strategy, governance and ensuring strong commercial outcomes while managing risk and stakeholder expectations.

You will lead a small team, drive value through contract performance improvements, and collaborate with project teams, legal colleagues and suppliers to secure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading commercial teams on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to develop commercial strategies and governance.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of a portfolio of large, complex, high risk infrastructure construction projects.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies that maximise value and support project objectives.
• Provide commercial advice on significant contractual, commercial and risk matters.
• Oversee contract performance and commercial outcomes across the portfolio.
• Lead and develop a team, supporting capability development and high performance.
• Manage claims, disputes and complex contractual issues with internal stakeholders and legal teams.
• Build and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Drive commercial governance, controls and compliance across project delivery.
• Support transition of projects from construction to operations, including close-out and handover activities.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and stronger commercial outcomes across the portfolio.
