Job summary

MMD Recruitment is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager for a contract role based in Sydney. The successful candidate will lead commercial strategy across hyperscale data centre projects, guiding negotiations, risk management and governance from pre-contract through close-out.

You will oversee cost reporting, forecast cashflow and act as the primary commercial advisor to Development, Finance & Treasury, Legal and Delivery teams across complex regional programmes.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in senior commercial roles within data centre, infrastructure or large-scale development environments.
• Proven track record of leading commercial outcomes across full project lifecycles.
• Strong negotiation, risk management and governance capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial strategy across multiple hyperscale data centre projects from pre-contract to close-out.
• Negotiate MSAs with General Contractors and OSE vendors and manage risk allocation.
• Review, negotiate and execute contracts with a focus on commercial soundness and cost control.
• Oversee cost management, forecasting, and cashflow across the portfolio.
• Manage commercial risk, changes, disputes and contract correspondence.
• Act as the main commercial advisor to Development, Finance & Treasury and Delivery teams.
• Improve commercial templates, governance and reporting across the regional platform.
• Visit sites for initiation, reviews, audits and close-out.
