Job summary

MMD Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager (Construction) to lead the client-side delivery of a hyperscale data centre in Kurri Kurri, NSW. You will oversee the project from pre-construction through handover, coordinating with the client, design consultants and contractors on a complex, fast-paced site.

The role demands strong commercial acumen, delivery focus and the ability to manage programme, cost, quality, risk and safety across all construction phases.

Qualifications

• Strong construction project-management experience on major building or infrastructure projects.
• Essential client-side project management experience representing an owner or developer.
• Proven capability in planning, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end construction-phase activities on behalf of the client.
• Develop and monitor detailed project plans, programmes, milestones, budgets and reporting frameworks.
• Coordinate the delivery team including head contractor, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and specialists.
• Manage contractor performance against programme, cost, quality, safety and contractual obligations.
• Review construction methodologies, sequencing, procurement plans, design interfaces and delivery strategies.
• Monitor progress against milestones and identify delays, risks and cost exposures.
• Drive practical solutions to construction issues and site constraints.
• Manage governance, reporting, meetings, risk registers and decision logs.
• Ensure robust cost control, expenditure tracking and commercial reporting.
• Review contractor claims, variations and change-control processes.
• Conduct site inspections and quality reviews to ensure compliance with drawings and standards.
• Ensure works comply with HSE requirements and contractual requirements.
• Manage stakeholder communication with client, project team, authorities and utilities.
• Support commissioning, testing, completion, defects management and handover.
